The Sunrise Registration Period I

During Sunrise Registration period I, only Korean governmental organization can register .kr 2nd level domain names (en).

The Sunrise Registration Period II

The Sunrise Registration period is set by the Registry to protect the rights of .kr 3rd level domain registrants.
It is an exclusive period of time prior to Landrush and General Registration when the owners of .kr 3rd level domain name have an opportunity to register a .kr 2nd level (en) domain name with the same alphabet string with that of .kr 3rd domain name.

* Applicants may only apply for .kr domain names that use same alphabetic string with the third level .kr registered by the applicant. e.g. "gabia.co.kr" registrant may only apply for "abc.kr" during Sunrise II

In case of multiple application, priority wil be given to Korean trademark holders. (Trademark shall exactly match the label of applicant’s third level .kr domain name)

* In case of multiple trademark holders, registrant will be determined by the registration date of third level .kr of applicants with trademarks.

* In case of no Korean trademark holder, registrant will be determined by the registation date of third level .kr of applicants.

*In case of multiple applicants with same registration date for 3rd level .kr domain name, registrant will be determined by drawing lots

Landrush registration Period

Landrush registration period is similar to General registration. Anyone who has local presence in Korea and Business Registration No. can apply for .kr domain name 2nd level (en).


	* Anyone with local presence(postal address of their place of residence) in Korea may apply for second-level english .kr domian name during landrush. * In case of multiple application, registrant will be decided by drawing lots.

General Registration

Beginning on April 19, 2006, anyone who has local presence in Korea can register .kr 2nd level (en) domain name in real time. If you do not have local presence, please contact to rrinfo@gabia.com.
